I work for PayPal, a company owned by eBay. PayPal has 70M+ active users, and it is a challenge to keep the system that works flawlessly up. My main responsibility is to write software using C++ in a Unix environment.
With more than 6 years of experience in software development, I enjoy doing this, and each day I learn something new. Sometimes new features of C++, which I put into practice. Other times, tackling live issues and debugging code.
Stressful at times, supporting operations till late nights, a complex codebase, and maintenance work. PayPal is a very process-driven company, and sometimes it's just frustrating.
