To gain experience working on a highly scalable architecture. Learn about processes, develop the ability to multitask, work with different functional and development teams, and collaborate.
Very stressful environment due to multitasking and too many releases. There are very thin opportunities for growth inspite of putting in a lot of hard work. Very bad medical and other perks. No constant motivation or financial rewards for people who work very hard and make a difference. Recently, there have been too many management changes and politics.
They need to improve the downsides that I have mentioned in order not to lose people and also make eBay a great place to work.
