All was great till we reached the offer stage where the contract conditions were hostile towards the employee.

When I asked for clarifications and adjustments to have the contract more friendly for employees (for example, having more time to report if I'm sick or that my workweek is normal and not under absolute control of someone else at will), I got a message saying that they are not going to discuss nor change any parts of the contract and they understand if I don't want to continue.
All the interviews where a different version of "talk about your experience" was used when talking to different levels of engineers (e.g., Tech leads, Engineering managers, Engineering Director).
