Have you ever heard the phrase, "standing on the shoulders of giants"?
I feel like every day is like that, but that somehow, not only am I standing on the shoulders of giants, but that these giants are also choosing to stand on my shoulders as well.
I work with and among the rock stars of the tech, marketing, and management worlds, and it's the most amazing work experience of my life.
I get to do everything I do with the freedom to dream big and live it larger than life.
I get to bounce ideas off of some of the smartest and wisest minds in the open-source (and even broader tech) community.
I get to create, and my contributions are recognized and refined by those around me.
Sometimes it's hard to only see my co-workers through video conferencing. It would be fun to hang out with them sometimes, but they're usually immediately available online, so it mitigates some of the lack of in-person communication.
As a result of the distance between me and my fellow employees, I really hope that the bi-annual all-hands meetings continue. They fuel me and help me to get to know my other fellow employees in a way I otherwise would not be able to do.
Don't let the amazing "can-do" spirit of our open-source projects dwindle. It's the fire that keeps me wanting to improve and deliver amazing results to the company and also to our customers.
