Pros
  • Fun times with great coworkers, that is when not being demolished by "voluntary" overtime.
  • Company events can be very fun.
  • Nice work utilities and benefits.
  • Some games were fun to test, but most were useless filth.

Getting out of this company was probably the best decision I made.

Cons
  • Insanely bad salary. Nothing compared to software industry standards. Continuously fed lies about raises, which were delayed until after I left.

  • Moving up can be possible, but way too much of a "buddy-buddy" system is going on. The higher you move up, the more "friends" you have.

  • Testers are still viewed as replaceable. The more they treat them like that, the higher the turnover will be.

  • Developers hardly listen to ideas/advice from testers. Some stupid ideas made by a few idiots have cost the jobs of the entire development team.

Advice to Management

Instead of giving programmers so much money, give testers what they deserve as well. Especially considering the bugs testers find are due to some coded garbage.

Fire managers who keep on making stupid decisions. There's a reason why EA's stock is no longer in the top 100 NASDAQ Index.

Facilitate career development for testers. Don't base it on friends but instead on performance reviews.
