Pros

Games. Even though you are at the management's mercy, there are so many ways to keep yourself interested, as there are so many interesting things to do. If you make it through the first couple of years/projects, you will have the time of your life compared to the IT industry. Technology sharing between products is really awesome; people love sharing their stuff.

Cons

Hard, long work hours during the tail end of the cycle (6-8 months) sometimes require sacrificing personal time to get the game out the door.

Advice to Management

Grow the company from within.

Stop making drastic strategic changes so often; it just makes the company dysfunctional.

Don't pick winners and losers by focusing marketing budgets on single seasons or products, as that just de-motivates other teams.
