Pros
  • Despite what seems like a strict corporate hierarchy, it's very easy to talk to high-level executives. I worked with a senior director for my internship project and was comfortable enough waltzing over to his desk to ask questions. I was also able to meet the CTO in person (more than once) and talk about my project.
  • Very open-minded about letting me work on what I wanted to explore.
  • Recruiters were very flexible and easy to work with.
  • Gaming culture, which means it's perfectly normal to play video games with friends during breaks.
  • Generally an understanding for taking days off to show a friend around town as long as work is getting done.
  • Great work culture for women! I never experienced any pushback (or questions, really) for not being a gamer.
Cons

The internship program is still quite small, especially if you're not at the main headquarters in Redwood City.
