Process
They are fairly unfocused when they bring you in for an interview as to what role would fit.
The roles are:
- Dev: Builds the software, Comp Sci or similar grads only, $50k/yr (who knows, depends on skill), 45-55 hr/wk. Stress depends on assignment; 'upper crust' works on design.
- QA: Tests the software, $40k/year with slow raises, 42 hrs/wk, low stress, low prestige.
- TS: Babysits customers with up-and-running deployments, Sci or Tech majors only, $53k/yr with medium raises, 45-55 hrs/wk. Stress varies wildly depending on assignment, medium-low prestige.
- IS: Deploys software to new customers, ambitious and accomplished grads only, $53k/yr with high bonuses and fast raises, 45-50 hrs/wk at home. Travels up to half the time, 55-80 hrs/wk when traveling. Stress on the high side but varies by assignment, high prestige.
Those are the high-volume hiring roles. There are other smaller roles I don't know enough about for intelligent comment.
There is an SAT-like intelligence test with verbal, quantitative, and pseudo-code programming sections. It takes about 1.5 hours altogether and is not grueling but is very tricky.
Much of the interview day is spent giving you a feel for the company and the setting, and inviting you to consider which role would fit you best.
Some standard stuff: behavioral questions, discussion of your past accomplishments, etc.
Questions
Being asked outright what role you want. I think this gets considered pretty strongly unless they feel you are a poor fit for one or more, because the pluses and minuses of each cancel out well. Have a plan for how to answer it, with the salary and lifestyle you want in mind.

Epic provides great benefits to employees, job security, and a friendly environment to work in.

Pros: Epic provides opportunities to do truly meaningful work.
The software Epic develops impacts millions of patient lives.
Your coworkers will be smart, hardworking, and passionate people who want to do great work.
Cons: Management is entirely out of touch with reality and believes that employees are mindless drones. Employees are humans, but Epic has abandoned treating us like people. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Epic has pushed relentlessly for employees to take on needless risk for the sake of workplace culture.
There has been strong pressure to stop remote work from the day it began, citing the importance of workplace culture and gaslighting employees into believing that we are "heroes helping heroes". After all, if docs and nurses are on the front lines risking their lives, why shouldn't we?
Epic has, since the beginning of remote work in March, set a series of deadlines for returning to campus. These deadlines have been torturously extended each time with two weeks' notice. The stress and anxiety this causes employees cannot be understated. I know of no fewer than twelve coworkers who have begun therapy since quarantine began, all citing Epic's treatment of them as a major contributing factor.

Pros: - Great atmosphere
- Teamwork mentality
- Plenty of room for growth and making the job a career
- Responsibility and ownership
- A lot of independence to get the job done
Cons: - Knowledge learned here does not transfer well to future fields/careers.
- For all of the responsibility given, a lot is expected in return.
- High expectations of employee performance.
- Leadership varies widely throughout the company.
- The job has the ability to consume your work/life balance if not managed well.
