Process

Applied for the software developer position at a local job fair recruiting booth. The recruiting department sent an e-mail a few days later to schedule a phone interview online and to take an online personality quiz. The personality quiz took approximately half an hour and contained some basic logical reasoning, math, and personality trait questions. It was a breeze.

Once the phone interview was scheduled, I was sent another e-mail the same day prompting me to schedule an online skills assessment within five business days. The skills assessment is proctored online, contained three sections for the position I was applying for, and was relatively difficult. I took a full four hours to complete it. They allowed snacks and beverages during the test, but plan accordingly for restroom breaks as they are only allowed in between sections.

The next day I had the phone interview, which was much easier in comparison. The interviewer was very informal and easy to talk with; they were mostly interested in previous projects and telling me more about the company. Our conversation lasted slightly over half an hour. About a week and a half later I received an e-mail thanking me for my interest in the company and informing me that they would be moving forward with other candidates.
