Process
Once you have submitted an online application, an initial phone interview will be scheduled with a current software engineer. Then, an online assessment will be scheduled for you within the next week. Once you have completed the assessment, you will have a chance to proceed to an onsite interview. If everything goes well, you will receive an offer.

Pros: - Culinary is great.
- Pay is getting more competitive with other bigger tech.
- Mentors can be super helpful.
- There's a decent amount of training to get you up to speed if you need it, and you're paid well while doing it.
- Really good long-term benefits.
- You can see genuine feedback and outcomes for customers.
Cons: - a bit "culty"
- Work from home is more flexible, but it could still be improved.
- There's only one campus in WI, and frankly, not many people from around the country dream of living in WI for the rest of their lives.
- There's a limited number of programming languages across teams and apps.
- If you aren't super passionate about healthcare, a lot of the internal propaganda gets old fast.
(There is definitely a lot of variability based on team and app.)

Pros: As a software developer, all the training you require to complete your job is provided in an incredible, traditional classroom setting with exams. All of this was very familiar to me, coming straight from college, so I was very familiar with it. Onboarding was a big pro to me.
Also a giant pro is the facility itself at Epic, with all its amenities, including the amazing food provided at a subsidized price.
Cons: I suppose the location is a bit remote.

Pros: The company is really awesome. So are most of the employees working at Epic.
I loved the certification process that was used to ramp you up on an application.
And the CEO, Judy, seems very well-intentioned and has a sense of humor very familiar to Math and CS people. In my opinion, she is the perfect example of "lead by example".
The city of Madison and the Epic campus are amazing places too. You'll feel in love with them.
Cons: I felt that the certification process and the self-study were not sufficient for a good ramping into an efficient employee.
More guidance at the beginning could go a long way.
