Software Engineer Interview Experience - Canada

August 8, 2020
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Received a 30-minute behavioral phone call, after which I was invited to write a 2-4 hour online test. The test has 3 sections:

  • Part 1: 2-minute, 10-question short answer math
  • Part 2: 10 multiple-choice questions based on logic/a made-up programming language
  • Part 3: Solve 4 coding problems. Someone watches you do the test, and you can't take breaks during sections. The coding section can be in any language, but you can't run your code or use references, so it helps to practice (solve LeetCode medium problems in a simple text editor).

Questions

Part 1: 2 min 10 question short answer math.

Part 2: 10 multiple choice questions based on logic/made up programming language.

Part 3: Solve 4 coding problems.
