They brought me out to their campus and had me stay in Madison. It was a strange campus, and everyone was very cheery. Almost too cheery. I am just filling this out to see everything else on this site.

It's a job

Quality Assurance Analyst • Current Employee

Madison, Wisconsin, United States

Pros: If you're freshly out of college, then most of the employees are around your age.

Cons: Administration makes training and culture cult-like and brainwashy. Judy is far removed from the company and lacks understanding of how it works on a day-to-day basis. Little room for career growth. Dull, repetitive work. Quality assurance is underpaid.

Good first company out of college

Pros: They hire in large quantities, especially during the summers. This means there is a very good chance of getting a job here straight out of college if you have the skill set and attitude they expect. Pay for quality management is pretty good for a software testing job, with a fairly predictable cycle of yearly raises (amount depending on performance).

Cons: Sometimes situations will come up on your team where more than the usual 40-45 hours may be expected in a week. It is not for the faint of heart. Company also has a limited number of work-from-home days per year, and company culture makes that unlikely to change any time soon. I personally prefer office-based work, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
