Process

The recruitment/interview process at Epic was extremely streamlined and efficient. It was only a few weeks from the time I had my phone interview to the time I received an offer. All the recruiters I interacted with were extremely helpful and very willing to answer any of my questions. I felt all the staff members I interacted with were very accommodating, and overall I was extremely satisfied with the process.

My first step was a personality assessment. After which (~2-3 days), I was contacted for a 30-minute phone interview. This interview was mostly behavioral questions with some high-level technical questions as well (i.e., describing the work I did at a previous internship). The interviewer took time to answer my questions and tell me a little bit about the Madison area.

The next step was an online skills assessment with some moderate-difficulty coding questions. They were about the level of homework assignments in a university algorithms class, probably about a medium on the LeetCode interview practice questions.

After the assessment, it was only a couple days before I was invited to Madison for an on-site. The on-site portion consisted of some informational sessions/conversations and three interview rounds:

  1. An interview with a software development team leader where I was instructed to discuss, in detail, a project I've done.
  2. An interview with a software developer, where I was asked to broadly solve a given problem (around the level of a problem given to a new hire) by focusing on any aspect of it (i.e., front-end design, algorithm, data structures, etc.).
  3. An interview with my assigned recruiter, where I was asked questions about career goals, work preferences, and other general questions.

My on-site was on a Friday, and I was contacted with an offer the following Tuesday.

The whole process took about 6 weeks for me, but this was mostly because I scheduled my interviews and assessments to be a couple weeks apart because of my busy class/work schedule. I never had to wait more than 4 days to hear feedback from one of my interviews or assessments.
