They were not honest about work hours and conditions in the interview. I got the impression in the interview that they were flexible about start times, where you worked, and how many hours—basically, as long as you got the work done, they didn’t care about the time or place. Google kind of vibes.
In training, they said you can work what hours you want, but they really need you to be available 9 AM to 4 PM.
After a month of working there, I was told by my manager that I needed to be working more like 50, 55, even 60 hours per week instead of 40 (on a salary, mind you, with no overtime compensation.) I also had to be approved to work from home every month.
Culture also felt kinda cultish. All in all, I'm not surprised why they were hiring 200+ people a month. A few months after I left, the other woman on my team left. We were both there less than a year.
Just be honest with your job postings and in the interview process. If I knew that I would be expected to work 50, 55, or 60 hours per week, I wouldn’t have applied.
Also, train your mentors on how to actually mentor and teach others. My mentor was highly knowledgeable in our app but had bad communication and teaching skills.
You apply for PM or TS, and they may let you know you are also considered for the QM role. The interview includes a presentation that you have to make. I think it is effectively the same as PM, but you are judged for PM (IS) or QM.
The first round was an online assessment and a phone interview. The online assessment consisted of math, reasoning, and programming-based questions. The phone interview was informal and just a conversation about the position.
30-minute phone interview and a 4-step skills test. The phone interview is a back-and-forth about items on your resume, with an extra discussion about what the interviewer does at the company and their experience.
