Pros

Interesting projects, travel opportunities, good salary, and control over project design/direction.

Cons

Increasingly rigid policies, distrust of staff, benefits plateau after five years, enforced office-only attendance disregarding the potential for remote work, overcrowded campus, reluctance to accommodate staff requests unless legally mandated, health/wellbeing not adequately prioritized, underwhelming holiday & sick PTO.

Advice to Management

Management should foster a managerial culture of empathy and flexibility. Since the mid-2000s, there has been a noticeable shift towards rigidity and a lack of trust in employees. It's crucial that employees are recognized for their unique needs and desires, rather than being viewed as liabilities that need stringent control and suspicion.
