The pay is good. Some very smart coworkers. Decent job to learn software development basics. Epic is the overall best company in its industry.
The decision-making process is terrible, with lots of politics and infighting, and no clear rules or decision-makers, even while management pretends that everyone gets along 100% perfectly. Management also often adheres to vague platitudes like "do the right thing" and sets unrealistic expectations. It's like 1984 plus Lord of the Flies.
Outdated technology is mirrored by obsolete HR practices, such as a complete lack of transparency and very limited working from home (until COVID hit).
Middle management doesn't do enough to ensure that the right processes are followed to get the right results. This is often because they have weak technical skills.
Some people are very aggressive, which is tolerated and even encouraged.
There's a general lack of professionalism, with everyone doing everything their own way.
Use a more professionalized and effective software development process.

30-minute phone screen, then an OA around 4 hours long. The OA had mental math, but also a few LeetCode-type problems. They were not very difficult if you studied common patterns and implementation.
One single virtual interview after a multihour OA. The interview was 4 hours long, but only ~2 hours was actual interview stuff. The rest was two presentations from different people about life at Epic. The 2 hours of interview included a case study,
