Process

I was referred by my friend for this position. Within a week, I received a call from the recruiter for an initial screening and to schedule my on-site interviews. The interviews were relatively easy. The interviewers were nice, friendly, and knowledgeable, but the recruiter's response was really poor. The interview process went like this:

1st Round (Recruiter Screening, 30 mins): I received a phone call where I was asked about my technical background, what Expedia does, and other questions like why I wanted to join Expedia and why I wanted to leave my existing company. The recruiter also scheduled my on-site interview during this call.

2nd Round (Technical Round, 45-60 mins): This was my first on-site round. The interviewer was late by 30-40 minutes. Many questions about my current work were asked, followed by a very simple string question. I was asked to write production-ready code without any discussion of my approach. The interviewer seemed in a hurry to finish the round because she was already running late.

3rd Round (Technical Round, 60 mins): As soon as my first round was completed, the second interviewer was waiting to take my next round. This round was moderately difficult, but the interviewer was very helpful, providing enough hints to solve the question correctly. (Perhaps I took too many hints to arrive at my solution). The questions covered DP, puzzles, OOPs concepts, and some discussion about my current work.

4th Round (Hiring Manager Round, 60 mins): As soon as my previous round was completed, the manager was waiting to take the next round. He started with a discussion about my current work, then moved on to questions requiring me to describe concepts from high-level details to in-depth working details. He then asked one question on algorithm design and asked me to write the code. However, he interrupted me while I was writing the code to ask some behavioral and situational-based questions.

Then I was asked to wait for the recruiter to inform me about the next round of interviews after lunch. The recruiter asked me to leave, stating that I was done with all rounds for the day and that I would be informed about the decision within a week. However, two weeks after my interview, I didn't hear anything from them. I tried to call the recruiter who first contacted me after a week. On my first call, he told me he would get back to me after collecting feedback, and after that, he didn't pick up my calls. So, I am assuming this means I was not selected for this role, but this is definitely not a nice or professional way to reject someone.
