Data Engineer Interview Experience - London, United Kingdom

Process

The interview was conducted online and I answered 9 questions.

There were 2-3 questions about hotels.com (which I applied to), 2 questions in SQL, and 3-4 Python questions (programming).

Overall, the interview went well, and I learned a lot from it.

However, I was disappointed not to receive feedback from Expedia. I spent several hours on the interview and would like to know where I need to improve.

I emailed Expedia and received an auto-reply stating they would get back to me within 3 working days. Nothing happened after a week. When I replied to the auto-reply email, they said my case was closed and sent me a link to re-open it. The link did not work.

I emailed them again to ask for feedback and sent another chasing email the following day, just to make sure I would get something. To my surprise, my case was closed (although they had said they would get back to me within the next 3 days), and the reopening link did not work (again).

I have given up chasing my feedback and will never apply to Expedia again. I am very disappointed with their "after-sales" customer service and am unsure how they were awarded "Best Workplace" in 2018.
