I was interviewed for Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS) for their London office in early December 2021. The entire process was done remotely.
I applied online and received a call from their recruiter after three months. After the initial discussion, the interview process was as follows:
Call with Engineering Manager: It was a friendly chat. The manager provided better insight into the team and discussed my background. Some technical questions related to functional programming were also asked, given my experience with Scala.
System Design: I was asked to design a hotel booking system. This part went well, and we discussed the possibilities of coding basic blocks, deployment, and scaling.
Coding Interview: Three common LeetCode-style questions were asked, increasing in difficulty. This included a knapsack problem.
Cultural Fit Interview: I was not fond of this interview but answered their questions. They presented a written list of questions and began reading them. I had expected a more friendly conversation. After a brief introduction about their process, they asked:
My experience meeting the engineering team was excellent. They are passionate about the product they are building. However, I was disappointed by the recruitment team.
To this day, I haven't received any feedback about the interviews. I sent several follow-up emails with no luck in getting a response. I invested my valuable time in their interviews and believe I deserve feedback, even if it's negative.
