Cons

Promotions are hard to come by. Compensation increases depend on the “bucket” your org receives each year; if your org isn’t getting a large fund, neither are you.

Career roadmaps are nowhere to be found.

Advice to Management

Work with employees to create career roadmaps and then give them opportunities to meet milestones on that roadmap. Not having goals with a clear, career-oriented outcome is demotivating.
