Principal Software Engineer Interview Experience - Reunion

Process

The overall impression is quite disappointing. The recruiter didn't even take the time, after I went through 3 interviews, to communicate the results or feedback (negative, I presume) after the technical interview. Management and technical people seem to live in different worlds, separate from any shared information.

I had the 1st interview with management, which was okay. I still had some questions, like who the team is and which project I will work on. I thought the technical interview would give me clarity, but the Principal engineer I spoke with didn't know either which team/project I should work on.

The principal engineer asked me to do a coding session (there was no preparation link or video), which was not really clearly announced in mails. From a Principal/Senior person, I would expect more of a system design and high-level interview, but it was the "usual" college coding games interview, which most of the time, senior people have difficulty answering because nobody uses them in real life, and junior people excel.

Disappointing from the technical interview to the recruiter, I didn't feel my experience was valued. Sad that this is always the typical way of filtering people.

I would not recommend. The manager I spoke with, although, was kind and experienced.
