Software Engineer Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington
Process
After applying online, I was sent a link to Hackerrank. The questions were too easy to be true: two coding and a few MCQs. The time limit was 75 minutes, but I was able to complete it in less than 15 minutes.
After waiting a week for an update, I sent a mail to the recruiter asking about the status. In a total of four weeks, I had sent four mails with no reply from the recruiter. Later, I just received an automated mail stating that I wasn't selected for the next round.

F5 Work Experiences
- 2.0Uncertain times aheadSoftware Engineer • Former EmployeeSeattle, Washington, United StatesJanuary 21, 2019Pros: Higher than average compensation. Still many talented individuals employed.Cons: Senior leadership lacks authority to make product decisions. Employees have little opportunity for growth. Unable to quickly pivot to new world of SDN from legacy hardware sales. Fragmented geography of teams makes working hours difficult.
- 5.0N.ASoftware Engineer • Former EmployeeSeattle, Washington, United StatesNovember 5, 2020Pros: Good work-life balance, good environment to work in.Cons: Low income, not much space to progress.
- 4.0Getting more progressiveSoftware Engineer • Current EmployeeSeattle, Washington, United StatesSeptember 15, 2021Pros: After COVID, most teams offer fully remote or flexible in-office jobs. They have been generous this past year, giving us every last Friday of the month off. Lots of products and infrastructure to work with because they own the entire pipeline of traffic for most companies. This allows us to build products that can be fully integrated across the internet, from browser to network.Cons: It doesn't seem like everyone is on the same page for the path forward. Too many different teams are working on achieving the same or similar goals, and there is a lot of overlap at the end of the day. Culture seemed to be more talk than action. Previously coming from a small startup, the culture at F5 is bleak.
