Despite the management issues, the individual engineers in the India office are incredibly sharp and hardworking. You'll learn a lot from your teammates just trying to survive the chaos together.
The work-life balance at Fanatics India is non-existent. As a Senior Engineer, I saw three major restructures in three years, which keeps the team in a constant state of "firefighting" and prevents any real domain mastery. You are moved around so often that you are always playing catch-up on your own personal time.
The culture here is built on a fundamental double standard. US teams strictly refuse to meet during their night hours, citing that they "start their day early." The irony is that Indian engineers also start their days early—we have families, commutes, and lives too—but our boundaries are completely ignored.
HR is spineless and won't track these hours, and local leadership is too intimidated by the US to stand up for us. They think a "late start" the next morning fixes everything, but it doesn't compensate for the fact that they are stealing your nights. We aren't just "resources" available 24/7; we are humans with lives outside of this job. Don't let them convince you otherwise.
Someone in leadership clearly needs to re-read Good to Great. You actually need to implement Level 5 Leadership at the CTO, SVP, and VP levels. Right now, the "hands-on" micromanagement is preventing the org from scaling.
Hire an HR team that actually cares about employee rights and compliance with local labor laws instead of just acting as a mouthpiece for the US office.
1st Round: Online Test (3 coding questions) 2nd Round: Technical Interview by 5 panelists (questions only on DSA/DAA) 3rd Round: HR - general HR questions - Why Fanatics? SWOT! Why are you a good fit? If you make no silly mistakes, you can get it
Initial 45-min coding screen, followed by a virtual onsite with 3 rounds. Two were behavioral and intended to cover different perspectives on my skillset, but they ended up feeling like the same type of general behavioral interview. One was systems d
The interview steps were a recruiter round, a technical interview, a culture interview, and a manager interview. All of the rounds were straightforward, and the whole process took three weeks from the initial response. I applied on the direct company
