My profile was submitted through a resourcing firm, and I received an invitation for the managerial round. This round of interview went well, then the recruiter scheduled a technical round with a panel.
I am very upset with the way this interview was conducted. Two out of three interviewers were rude and unprofessional.
At the start, a director-level person gave me an introduction and asked the other two individuals to give their introductions. Then, I gave my introduction.
After this, he told one of the guys to start the interview. That guy asked me only one question: "Do you have Java 8 experience?" I answered that I don't have Java 8 experience but have good experience in Java 6 and 7. Then this guy told me that he was done from his side. Then, that senior guy interrupted here and asked him to ask some questions on AWS and other tech stuff.
Then this guy asked some basic, open-ended AWS questions, for example, how geo-targeting works in AWS, how we can implement IAM policies. Then the third guy asked me questions about S3 and its access-related questions, and he was rude as well.
I got feedback from the resourcing firm that I don't have good Java and AWS experience, and that's the reason the Fidelity team rejected me.
I didn't mention Java 8 on my resume, so why did they shortlist my resume for this position? As far as AWS knowledge, I have more knowledge than these two interviewers.
