Pros

Nice people, good benefits.

The company is not publicly held, so things are stabler than other large tech companies.

There's a lot of opportunity for growth if you stay in the company.

Many people stay for a long time because there is opportunity for good work-life balance.

Cons

Business runs everything, ultimately.

Many restrictions and blockers exist because of security and the scale of their projects.

If you work in tech, this gets in the way of innovation and using the newest technologies.

The difficulty and pressure of the job depends on the project you have.

The project I was working on was very high profile and very high pressure.

Advice to Management

I would suggest that business continues to work towards a collaborative relationship with tech. It's getting better, and it needs to continue to get better.

Also, less finger-pointing and pettiness on the higher levels. My direct manager and project manager were great people.
