Good people on the ground, but archaic upper management

Pros

The software developers all over are good people and nice to work with. 401k matching and health benefits are good. Work-life balance can be good but varies wildly depending on the team and manager, and it is getting worse with in-office mandates. It's not difficult to move to other teams and projects.

Cons

In-office mandates are getting worse. Upper-level management doesn't listen in general. There's a feeling of cheapness and corporateness that got worse in the last few years.

Your salary will be low, and don't expect yearly raises will even match inflation. Promotions are a rarity.

Four years ago, I would've recommended Fidelity to my friends and fresh graduates. Today, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're desperate.
