Pros

They have decent benefits and pay.

Cons

Where to begin...

  • Management is just appalling at all levels. One of the managers said "depression isn't an illness," which just sums up their entire attitude.
  • People are placed in roles that may not suit them (or may not be what they applied for), and are just told to suck it up.
  • Office politics are a joke.
  • Bullying is ignored.
  • Employees are left to stagnate if they annoy the wrong person.
  • Really old tech, complicated systems, way too slow to upgrade.
  • They use a lot of obscure tech so it's hard to find solutions online.
  • The WFH policy isn't clear, and some managers only allow seniors to WFH, while others allow anyone who's passed probation.
  • People in senior positions are there just because they've been working there a long time, who have no business being at that level at all.
  • All the interesting work is taken from Ireland and given to US teams.
  • The Dublin offices are way out in Citywest, so not an ideal location.
  • Bad quality laptops with virtual desktops that keep crashing, meaning it can be impossible to get work done.
  • Everything is slowed down by pointless bureaucracy.
  • Terrible canteen with unhealthy food that's listed as healthy.

Overall, your experience depends entirely on who your manager is. If you get stuck with a bad one (of which there are many), it's nearly impossible to escape from them without handing in your notice.

Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people, not resources.
