Two tech + two non-technical.
In general, in my opinion, the first interview was more demonstrative of tech skills for the company and the developer. It showed the actual live coding skills and the developer's knowledge in his area. The second interview was also quite good, and I was happy to describe my experience and show design skills. However, I think the second part of coding in pure JavaScript does not seem really suitable for a system design interview. I would have preferred all live-coding-related tasks in the first stage.
If I have some critical gaps for this company, I would prefer not to waste the time of Fiverr employees on a second interview. And if the company really decided that they need live-coding at this stage, from my point of view, it should be some live-coding on a system design level. I would like to see some live-coding related to that (e.g., describe props for a random component or create an architecture for your new application: folder structure, state manager, some optimizations, etc.). I wouldn't want to do random JavaScript tasks at this stage.
Overall, I have good feelings about the interviews I had, but I probably won’t match their position because of this second stage with live-coding. I think my main problem was that I was very nervous and did not expect that there would be issues similar to Codewars katas.
For all the next candidates, I wish you good luck. Don't worry, and everything will be fine. The questions are generally not difficult, and if you have enough experience, the interview will be easy. I wish you interesting tasks and a high salary. ☺️
