A recruiter reached out and described the job details and asked usual HR questions. The interview process was easy.
Firstly, there was a hiring manager round, then a coding pre-screening. The pre-screening coding question was a LeetCode easy problem involving string decoding.
For the virtual onsite, I could not qualify for the 90-minute peer programming round. In this round, you are expected to write an SQL connector. There was some existing code, and you need to implement a missing piece of logic.
The mistake I made was spending too much time trying to understand their code first. One piece of advice: don't waste time understanding their code; rather, start by solving the required logic and then look for what you need in the existing codebase.
The interviewer was friendly and helpful.
