Process

A recruiter reached out to me via a third-party recruiting service. I had an approximately 20-minute screen with the recruiter about the company, while they learned a bit more about my background to see if I'd be a good fit for the first technical interview. The recruiter was very nice, and I enjoyed learning more about Flexport; they are really onto something.

We then scheduled a 1-hour technical interview with a third-party interviewing service called Karat.io. This was done over Google Hangout and split into two parts: one where I spoke about a technically challenging project I worked on, and the other where I solved a simple coding exercise. The interviewer was really great and made me feel comfortable during the interview.

I didn't make it to the next round, but due to the efficient speed of the process, as well as how all parties conducted themselves, this was a positive experience.

Questions

Tell me about a challenging technical project you've worked on.

A 2D array was provided that contained a rectangle. I was asked to write a function that output the location of the rectangle within the 2D array, as well as its dimensions.
