In this job hunting season, I interviewed with 8 companies. Flexport offered the best interview experience among them.

Recruiter Kerianne was extremely efficient, responsive, and helpful. On our first phone call, she managed to arrange a same-day, short onsite interview at 5 p.m. to replace a phone screen, as I happened to be in the city. The next day at 8 a.m., she emailed me to schedule the onsite interview. Again, the day after the onsite, she and the hiring manager called me to extend the offer. While I was considering the offer, Kerianne actively organized several phone calls and meetings with team members to help me learn more about the company, the team, and the industry.

The Flexport team is awesome. All the interviewers were nice and competent. Another important thing is that I could see their enthusiasm about the product and the mission they are building toward.

Along the interview process, I learned more about the freight forwarding and logistics industry. I strongly believe Flexport is well-positioned: the industry is old and huge, and Flexport has the strong tech and operations competency to become the market leader.

I really liked Flexport and the team. In the end, I didn't join them because the commute would have taken 1 hour each way. I joined another company that is 7 minutes away from my home. It was a really tough decision, and likely a bad one.

Expect regular coding and design questions. It will be helpful if you have experience with data modeling and database design for complex information systems.
