Before introducing a new role, teach your employees first about the reality of the role so that they can't misguide people like me. I joined Flipkart as an Application Engineer, expecting it would mature into an SDE role after 1 year. However, the story here is different. It is a support role, and you can become an SDE after 3 years, as per Flipkart's job role hierarchy.
