Ownership. You are going to own products big time. Developers have a lot of say in product design itself.
Learning Opportunities. Still rolling out solutions like multi-dc setup, which would help you learn and become a more complete engineer.
Work-life balance. You would be expected to work even on weekends quite frequently.
No enforcement of processes. This would vary team to team, but a high development rate leads to tech debt, which is rarely repaid. Also, no standard CI/CD means much more time goes into deployment and monitoring it afterwards.
Competency framework not followed during promotions/appraisals.
In view of COVID, many people are getting overworked.
We should ensure that developers are not expected to put in weekends regularly. We should float surveys around regularly and have a session for managers who score poorly in those.
The interview process took around a week, but it was an overall good experience. For experienced Mobile Developers, there are four rounds, and all rounds are eliminatory. Even after clearing all rounds, the HR process is a bit slow.
I went for the F2F (Face-to-Face) round at Flipkart's Bangalore office after an online HackerRank round. There were supposed to be four rounds of interview, so I had planned for five to six hours. I reached there at 10 am. The process was very slow;
The process might start with a telephonic interview, followed by onsite rounds. Interview standards are high. They look for hands-on engineering skills. Focus on Data Structures and problem-solving. Be good at design. Prepare for a day-long grilling
