Too many fresh grads. Agreed that they are really talented and all, but I don't see any logic in promoting people from SDE1 to SDE2 in 6 months! If that goes like this, he will be an architect with 3 years of experience! What's next?
Code base has zero documentation. Nobody follows the rule of 20-30% comments in code. Not a single line of comment you will find. Either you infer what the code is doing by reading it, or debug it.
Lack of coordination across teams. Teams change their API responses without any notification, leading to runtime errors somewhere else! People do not respond to emails, and you have to walk to their desks and ask questions.
Lots of noise at the workplace. No desk phones. At any given point in time, you will find at least half of employees not at their desks and discussing stuff at someone else's place (because many people do not respond on emails, and there is zero documentation).
Mentorship? What is that?
Useless meetings.
Hire experienced people. Many projects are simply driven by SDE1s.
The interview process took around a week, but it was an overall good experience. For experienced Mobile Developers, there are four rounds, and all rounds are eliminatory. Even after clearing all rounds, the HR process is a bit slow.
I went for the F2F (Face-to-Face) round at Flipkart's Bangalore office after an online HackerRank round. There were supposed to be four rounds of interview, so I had planned for five to six hours. I reached there at 10 am. The process was very slow;
The process might start with a telephonic interview, followed by onsite rounds. Interview standards are high. They look for hands-on engineering skills. Focus on Data Structures and problem-solving. Be good at design. Prepare for a day-long grilling
