I had a single one-hour interview round for the SRE role at Ford Motors. The interview was virtual and focused on both technical skills and behavioral questions. The interviewers were friendly and asked about my experience with specific tools related to SRE. There were also questions aimed at understanding how I handle teamwork and problem-solving. Overall, the interview went well, and I felt well-prepared by reviewing the job description and relevant skills.

Pros: The culture of my immediate department, team, and management cared about each team member personally and preached and practiced good work-life balance. The immediate area wants to do good for the company and works very well to care for and upskill each other.

Cons: Upper management and executives have no clue how to lead or what the actual issues are at the individual contributor level. They are focused on the next "big" org restructure and lining their pockets while laying off top performers. The company keeps having major recalls and issues, but management has their heads in the clouds instead of fixing issues right in front of them.
