Ford has been a great employer; they are fair and compensate well. I've worked as management in the plant and in the office, all as an engineer. They are by far the best automotive employer amongst the competition (I've worked for or with nearly all others).
Nothing to note. Ford is not without faults; there are cons. I feel as if my cons are petty and not worth expressing. In Ford's defense, they do actively try to improve as an employer and make work life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Lean out. Shed some excess manpower and improve on your existing systems. Strengthen your hiring standards and become more competitive amongst the competition with young talent.
I submitted an application on the Ford job website, and I was contacted to schedule a phone interview a couple weeks later. HR and interviewers were very friendly, and it was a very comfortable interview.
