I spoke to a hiring manager at a job fair. He looked through my resume and asked me some questions about my experiences to get a sense of how "green" I may be. It was very conversational, and he really seemed to like me. He said I would definitely hear back from them.
He knew I was a new graduate and did not have an opening on his team, but he did have a front-end position on another team (not the best fit for my experience). He mentioned they typically hire more experienced people for those roles.
Two to three days later, I received an email from HR to schedule an offline, 48-hour test and more information about the role. After that, I did not hear back from them (not surprising since my solution was only about 70% done, although I enjoyed it and learned a lot while doing it). It would be nice if they sent a declined email rather than nothing at all.
