Pros

We became part of Fortinet after the company we worked for got acquired by them. It's now close to two years since the acquisition.

  • We have never felt under any undue stress or pressure just because we got acquired.
  • The roadmap was defined properly with assurance that there would not be any firings.
  • Very good work environment.
  • Good leave policy and leaves granted whenever requested.
  • Pretty decent appraisals.
  • Bonus payouts for engineering teams every quarter.
  • Stocks provided with appraisals (at least until now).
  • Good insurance coverage, which includes parents.
Cons
  • Very poor administration team leading to mediocre quality food being supplied by contractors who bid the lowest amount.

  • HR team also needs to improve a lot in their interaction with employees (seems to be changing of late, but a long way to go).

  • No firing policy means that even people who don't work that much are comfortable with what they do, causing unwanted workload on a few people within each team.

Advice to Management

The management should ensure that star employees are recognized and rewarded handsomely for the work being done.
