I applied through a recruiter.
I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn for an initial screening call. The conversation began with a brief marketing pitch about the company. When the recruiter asked me to share my background, I mentioned that I had some follow-up questions about the business before diving into my experience. While she agreed to answer, her demeanor changed and she became noticeably irritated and defensive when I asked about the company’s validity and business model.
Eventually, she stated that I was not a fit for their culture and accused me of having an attitude, even though I was simply trying to understand the organization better. The interaction felt unprofessional and, ironically, the defensiveness around basic questions about the business made the culture seem unhealthy and closed off to honest dialogue.
Tell me about your background.
