Pros: Flexible and forgiving work hours.
Interesting technical challenges.
Close collaboration with intelligent people from other backgrounds (not software).
Cons: There is a great deal of technical debt, which grows relentlessly. I spent most of my time paying off this debt, none of which was due to me, and was never thanked. Staff (in the dev team) have seriously immature attitudes, and their actions can be ruled by emotions. You must use your emotional intelligence at all times.
