I found the job advertisement on the GE site and applied with a standard CV and covering letter.
Shortly after, I was invited to complete an online psychometric test. This consisted of a series of business scenarios and choosing, out of four potential responses, what would be the most and least effective.
A few days later, they scheduled a telephone interview with me. It consisted of motivational and competency-based questions, as well as asking me to talk about my degree and IT skills.
The questions that I remember were as follows:
I'm sure there was one more competency question, but I can't remember it.
I was very confident in my performance in the interview, but unfortunately, they did not continue with my application.
I was expecting them to ask why I wanted to work in this position, but they only asked about wanting to work for GE. I was expecting this, but had done more research into the specific position and plant I would be working in rather than GE as a whole.
