Pros

Straight overtime for salary folk on the production floor.

Never bored.

Plenty of learning opportunities to show how not to organize or manage a production environment.

Cons

Long days (12+ hrs) plus weekends will be spent in the shop. You will not see the sun in winter.

Management effectiveness is measured in decibels.

No hint of an opportunity to grow or diversify.

You are measured on several metrics that are directly contradictory, ensuring you will fail in some way every time.

Upon failure, you will be publicly ridiculed on your appearance, personality, gender, and maybe (in part) about the actual failure to perform to the above metrics. No instruction, coaching, or advice in how to improve.

Advice to Management

People with college educations won't stay in an office environment from the 1980s. Modernize middle management methods to reduce your turnover.
