Pros

It is good learning in product development. You get to know about process and good practices.

Because of the cutting-edge tools they use in software development, it makes a friendly and easy development environment for an engineer. A developer can focus on actual development rather than spending time on other issues which a developer normally lives with.

Cons

There is a clear difference between contractors and direct employees. This is something you have to live with day in, day out. This reflects in behavior every day. If you can bear with this, you can survive without any other issues.

Contractors are engaged at a critical time of development, thereby making it challenging for them not only to adjust, learn, and catch up but also to perform at par with other people in the project.
