The interview process is still ongoing, but I have to comment. So, if the department does not have enough resources to filter resumes or provide one-on-one interviews (online or in person), stop hiring.
An online coding assessment is totally acceptable, but a "record your answer by talking to the camera, two attempts each" assessment is totally a mental rape and outdated. It is not costly to have one of your HR representatives or team leads spend 30 minutes talking to candidates on Teams. Or go spend some time on resumes and choose candidates who are worth your 30 minutes.
Introduce projects you have done.
