Process
GM India came to SVNIT, Surat for campus recruitments.
The hiring process consisted of a group discussion with 10 students per group, and around 2 were selected from each group for the next round.
The second round was a panel interview. Around 24 people made it to this round.
This consisted of detailed questioning on the technical front. There was a panel of 5 members. My interview lasted for around 40 minutes. 4 students were finally selected.
Questions
Grades of steel. Formation of martensite. They also questioned me about extracurricular activities.

A single place to know and learn - Socrates.com is really helpful.Cons: Most employees do not know the entire picture of how the company functions as a whole and what their role is. Salaries for software professionals are comparatively less than at other MNCs. HR people are not at all helpful and seem very arrogant. College hires were not informed about company accommodation and had to struggle a lot for stay initially – another HR communication gap. Work-wise, it's good for a mechanical engineer but not so great for a computer science graduate. Most employees are desperate to get off-shore opportunities and lack commitment towards the company.
