Senior Automation Engineer Interview Experience - Warren, Michigan

August 1, 2025
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process consisted of three rounds:

  • An initial discussion with HR
  • A behavioral interview
  • A final coding round

During the coding round, the interviewer was very insistent on using Python and initially unwilling to accept solutions in any other language. I explained my preference and completed all the coding questions in JavaScript, with every test case passing successfully within their coding tool.

Unfortunately, the strict insistence on one specific language seemed to outweigh the actual evaluation of problem-solving ability and coding skills. While the process itself was organized, the overall experience was only average, as the focus appeared to be more on adherence to a language requirement rather than on assessing technical competence.

Questions

I have the value "XXXOOO". If you see 3 consecutive X or O, then it is a tie. If only X is repeating and not O, then X won. If not, Y won. Give me a Python code.
