HireVue first, then I got a phone screening from HR around 2 weeks later. I specifically mentioned to them that I am a Canadian citizen and that I would need a TN visa to work there.
HR told me that's fine and I received an invitation to the final interview around 1.5 weeks later.
I took around 2-3 days to prepare and did the final 2-hour interview. I believe I did well as it was all behavioral and experience questions, which I'm good at. They let me know that I'll hear back on Friday of that week.
No response on Friday. I emailed them on Monday and received a response as well. On Tuesday, I got a call telling me that since I need a TN visa, they won't be considering me for the position, even though I told HR first thing that I would need a TN visa to work in the US.
Simply an incompetent HR department who loves wasting time.
