Process

Overall, the interview was a great experience.

I was first reached out by my engineering recruiter, who conducted a brief background screening (simple "tell me about yourself" and company-based questions).

Next was the Hire-Vue interview, which consisted of 3 questions. For me, these were technical, job-specific questions.

About a week after, I received the next step: a digital video interview with 2 hiring managers. They were totally amazing and made me feel very comfortable.

The interview started with them explaining the available positions, and then they asked to briefly get into my background and previous work experience.

Then, they asked 3-4 STARL-based questions.

Make sure you prepare for situation-based, conflict, and relationship-building questions.

I really enjoyed the process at GM. The process took about 4+ weeks from start to finish, receiving the offer letter.

I accepted with no doubt because of a great team and opportunity.

Questions

  1. Explain something you would like to improve about yourself and what did you do about it?

  2. Tell me about a time where it was hard to build a relationship with someone and how did you get around it?

  3. Tell me about a time you made a mistake or would do something differently.

  4. A company for years has been working and doing something as a routine. But recently you found out there is a huge fault in this method. How did you go about exposing the issue and fixing it?
