Pros

They have a technical education program which enables you to get degrees from top universities at a distance. Coursework and projects can be done with co-workers on projects of interest to the company. This can lead to greater visibility from senior management and many invention disclosures. As with anything, it is what you make of it.

Cons

You could be performing significantly better than someone who is 10-20 years older than you and still be getting paid far less. The formalities that human resources place on compensation are very old school and nonsensical.

Advice to Management

Make compensation more based on merit and less on experience.
