In the TRACK program, you have 4 rotations, each lasting 6 months, with a different team in a different part of your field. For a Manufacturing Engineer, that's awesome because I get to explore what it's like working on the floor, with suppliers, with Design teams, and a whole ton of other people. It's a great way to explore what careers are possible while also having a 'get out of a bad position free' card every 6 months.
Because GPS is in Manufacturing, you're expected to work pretty long hours and overtime that isn't always compensated.
In my first rotation, I was working 50-hour weeks, and on my second one, I'd travel for hours on the weekends to reach suppliers. That extra travel was paid for by GM in both hotels, meals, and car rentals, so honestly, the extra time wasn't super bad.
In some rotations, your supervisor will let you set your own hours, so it's not as bad.
Heard back about a month after applying. Scheduled interview for next week, and they rescheduled on me. Single-round interview with engineers from the department I am working at, with behavioral and resume technical questions.
My experience was excellent from start to finish. The entire process went very smoothly and was handled with great professionalism. Both the HR team and the managers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supportive throughout. Everything was well
The interview process consisted of three rounds: * An initial discussion with HR * A behavioral interview * A final coding round During the coding round, the interviewer was very insistent on using Python and initially unwilling to accept solutions
